Maison La Plage Brighton

Great Location BUT NOISY Positive: First the good stuff, very central location for all Brighton has to offer. A good shower and nice lounge and bedrooms. John and the management company were also very responsive when we had issues with the roller door and then the TV (which was promptly replaced). Negative: The kitchen, bathroom and outdoor space are… mediocre and dated at best. The kitchen really needs some new pans and the bath looks worn out. The photos on the web site really need updated, there is no planting in the courtyard just a few weeds growing through, the outside needs a repaint.. If it was just these inconveniences then our 10 day stay here would have been ok. BUT the noise… it’s not made clear from the photos or descriptions that the lounge and 2 of the bedrooms are directly (and I mean directly) on the road, which serves as a pick up and drop off zone for the local shops. There is no pavement, the lorries and vans park literally inches away from the windows which have bars on them for security. From 7 am (6-23 one morning…), there is a lot of noise from this although it does ease off in the afternoon.. There is also noise through the internal walls which are shared with the adjacent gelato shops… staff chatting and singing whilst they work (at least they seem happy!). It all adds up to quite a stressful stay, really not relaxing at all unfortunately… not good value for money and 100% won’t be staying here again

We had a wonderful stay in all. Positive: Primarily its location. It was roomy and very comfortable for 4 adults. The shower was exceptional. We could do everything we wanted except sit outside perhaps. Although table, etc was provided, it wasn’t exactly pleasant out there. The house was clean. Negative: It felt very enclosed. Only a couple of windows opened to let fresh air in. No views from any windows at all. We felt a bit like there was no escape route in case of an emergency.

Positive: Clean, plenty of room, good aircon for those hot days and close to the beach and cafes. Negative: No garden but that is clear when you book.

Loved the location, easy communication with owner, very spacious rooms and very tidy. Positive: Location and roomy Negative: The hot water service could do with an upgrade and a dishwasher.
